This e-Commerce adoption research Website reports on work & research activities over the past six years. The initiative originated in the academic realm but needs to expand its focus to be more relevant to industry and various external stakeholders. Training and education should ideally now also be incorporated.
The Internet comprising of web-based technologies have given rise to e-commerce, e-business, e-learning, e-banking and others, resulting in new business distribution channels reaching a wider audience compared to traditional business. e-Commerce has become multi-disciplinary to an extent, as it comprises aspects such as ICT, Management, Marketing that affects businesses and individuals, at Strategic, Operational and Implementation levels (Refer to the e-Commerce Adoption model under ‘Research’ on this website).
Dr Stuart Warden has been involved in e-commerce adoption research for the past seven years. He is a National Research Foundation (NRF) (http://www.nrf.ac.za) grant holder to finance this research for research activities, travel to local and international conferences, study visits and student bursaries. At least eight Masters students have graduated in e-Commerce Adoption and related fields, including mobile commerce (m-Commerce), two Doctorates and no less than twenty fourth year research projects (the latter presented as ‘working papers’ under ‘Papers’ on this website).
